MEMORIES OF CLASSMATES & OLD VALKYRIE HEADLINES, & NEWSPAPER CLIPPINGS

Fond memories of our Classmates. Please share yours!

These are the photos from Larry Sickinger's family.Larry died January 3'rd 2007 suddenly from heart related issues. He was a Happy man, husband, father and friend . He was an active Member of the Association of Christian Character Development and love to help with marriage seminars called One Accord. He loved the Earth and all it's natural beauty. He was a gifted artist and created interesting things such as jewelry from seashells and beautiful walking sticks. Larry loved teaching kids and was active with boyscouts and teaching them how to make pinewood derby cars. He  helped his sons win many trophies. Larry also taught all about fishing at a local art camp called Kingdom  Academy of the Arts. The kids loved to see how to clean the fish as Larry showed them.He was an avid Fisherman. He was buried in his Waders and the theme of his life and death were "Be ye fishers of men" Matthew 4:18-20 Larry left a loving wife, Rebekah and 4 wonderful sons :Jeremy,  Jeorge, Jared, and Jacob who are grateful for having him in their lives. They will honor him as they miss him. We are trying to locate Larry's friends Gilbert Arnold  and Ronnie ? whom he fished with alot after highschool. Ray Edmondson & daughters Penny Layne & Angela
Ray passed away in 1992 when his daughters were quiet young. They would love to hear from Ray's friends who have memories to share about their dad. He was in the Social Studies and Science Clubs and a member of the Track and Cross Country Teams. Angela Edmonson can be reached at: angelaledmondson@hotmail.com. She promises to share more about his life after high school. We think he was a true Beatles fan with a cool name like Penny Layne for his daughter!!

Bill Bass, Class of 72 and wife Vicki Young Bass, Class of 73

Bill Bass passed away in July, 2004 from leukemia. He attended Bishop Bryne and then transferred to Hillcrest in his senior year. He did not have a senior picture made, although wife Vicki did find some pictures of him escorting Jill Wright, Dena Scott, and Melissa Hammett to different events. "He was quite a hit with the Hillcrest girls." Bill played with at least 3 different bands around the South for about 10 years after high school. One band was called 'Wake'. Then his first wife made him get a haircut and a real job in the food distribution business for several years and then he went into telecommunication sales for the remainder of his life. He and Vicki were best friends in high school but did not get married until 1985 after both were divorced. They were married for 19 years. Vick's email is: vbass@utmem.edu.
