Glenda Coleman Loyd ran into Terry Marshall, Judy Davis Marshall, and their granddaughter Katie at Chuck E. Cheese 12/29/2002.

OBIT--John Ragsdale  John Mark Ragsdale died Tuesday, December 23rd, 2008, after a long battle with cancer. John, born December 23, 1952, was a native Memphian. He attended Hillcrest High School and graduated from Overton High School. He was a graduate of the University of Memphis with a degree in Criminal Justice. Upon his graduation, he served his country in the United States Army with the military police division in Germany. He was employed by Imperial Securities and assigned to Valero Refinery. John was a member of Audubon Baptist Church, a lifetime member of the NRA, a golfer and an avid coin collector. John was preceded in death by his father, Dr. James E. Ragsdale. He is survived by his mother, Lois Thomas Ragsdale; brothers Dr. Thomas "Tommy" Ragsdale of Norfolk, Virginia, and David Ragsdale (Susan) of Collierville; sisters, Jamie Luter (Rue) of Germantown and Susie Gayden (Harry) of Memphis; eight nieces and nephews; and two great nephews. John was a loving son, caring brother and uncle, and a generous friend to many, all of whom will miss him dearly. In lieu of flowers, please send any donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

DON VELTON LOYD--Class of 1970  Died peacefully at his home in Jonesboro, AR. Oct. 12, 2008 at the age 56, of complications related to heart disease and diabetes.

Born in Ardmore Oklahoma, he was a 1970 Graduate of Hillcrest High School, in Memphis, TN. He Served a 2 year Mission in Ecuador for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the early 1970’s.

He earned his Respiratory Therapist Degree from Northwest Community College in Southaven, MS., and his BSN in Nursing in1984 from the University of Louisiana, Monroe. In 1986, He earned his MSN in Anesthesia from Xavier University and Charity Hospital in New Orleans. He was employed as CRNA (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist) at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas Methodist Hospital in Paragould, and 9 years at St. Bernard’s Regional Medical Center until his retirement in 2002. He was the former Scout Master, Troop 218 LDS Church

Survived by: his wife of 32 years, Glenda Coleman Loyd, 3 Sons, Blair Loyd of San Antonio, TX, Judd Loyd & Lexx (Robin) Loyd of Jonesboro, and daughter, Tessa Loyd of Conway, AR. 6 grandchildren, Makenzie, Kayleigh, Aidan, Ethan, Jaxon Muir, and Samantha Loyd. Parents: A G. & Rose Loyd of Southaven, MS, Sister, Dona Bates, of Fort Walton Beach, FL, Brother, Dr. Richard (Kathy) Loyd, of Athens, GA., and sister Patricia Buchanan of Niceville, FL. Brother in-law, Richard (Robin) Coleman of Memphis, and sister-in-law, Marty Moore of Opelika, AL. A host of nieces & nephews also mourn his passing. He was preceded in death by his biological father, Don V. Peddycoart, Sr.

He will be remembered for his love of duck hunting, guns, Oklahoma Football, genealogy, traveling, landscaping, his farm & critters, fishing, the Spring River, & his children & grandchildren.
